This high-energy-entertaining comedy show will be held at the The Cannery in New Orleans on September 16, 2023. If you are concerned about the drastic increase in crime in our city, we invite you to join this event. Proceeds from the show will benefit the mission of The Loft, a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization. With a drastic increase in youth-related crimes, it is imperative to ensure that our kids have access to after-school and summer programs that are staffed with positive adult role models. When students are engaged in structured after-school programs, their chances of getting into trouble are reduced dramatically; leaving little opportunity for a child to engage in criminal behavior or even worse become a victim of crime. The Loft has seen young participants in the program excel in school, improving academic grades and participation thus increasing educational equity. The goal of this event is to use comedy to bring awareness to the need for programming for the youth of New Orleans. This is a crime prevention fundraising event for the Loft and all the young participants involved. The Crescent City Comedy Festival will provide a festive-like atmosphere with diverse entertainment, celebrating our New Orleans culture with our very own Mardi Gras Indians, Second line Dancers, and Zulu Tramps.
